In my painting, I consider to be great influences and responsible in large part for what my work represents: my roots and my life abroad.
An important part of my visual source I owe to Peru, my origin, which despite the distance and time have always been present. Its eternal landscapes, its enriching and partly hidden past, its customs, people and personal memories, its Geometrization, as I call it, draw to my work as a call to have them present.
On the other hand, the role of my adoptive city, Miami; with its constant changes, the flow of people, contrasts between wealth and poverty, it’s abundant nature, with the air of a new city, of bestial materialism, violence, sensuality and its deep and poor roots as a southern state difficult to hide also makes it an important part of my subject visual in my work.
Some paintings seem to have a torn veil, with holes, where the viewer tries to distinguish something: a face, a place, a memory, an emotion... or simply discover something hidden.
